Privacy Policy

What does this Privacy Policy cover?

This policy will describe in detail how we treat personal information collected and received at the sites at which this policy is posted, including information related to any prior use of our products and services.

However, this policy does not cover how we treat personally identifiable information obtained from other third-party, such as offline, from other websites, or via unsolicited email communications. This policy does not apply to the privacy practices of companies not owned or controlled by Freelancing and More, or to those that we do not employ or manage.

Information Collected and General Use Thereof

Freelancing and More collects personal information when visitors register and complete a user profile with us. The term “personal information” is classified as information that would identify a user as a specific person, such as name, address, email address, or telephone number.

When visitors register, we request information such as a valid name and email address. Once a visitor registers with Freelancing and More and signs in to our services, they are no longer anonymous to us.

To enable Freelancing and More to show more pertinent and targeted content and advertising, we may also ask for certain demographic information such as age, gender, location and income level. Nevertheless, this information is completely optional.

We automatically receive and store information on our server logs from a user/visitor’s browser, including the IP address, Freelancing and More cookie information (if applicable), and the page requested.

Freelancing and More uses the information collected for the following general purposes (including but not limited to):
·         Fulfill user requests for products and services,
·         Customize content and advertisements viewed,
·         Improve our tools services,
·         Contact members,
·         Conduct research, and
·         Provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients as necessary.

Children’s Information

This site is intended for adult users, and we do not intentionally collect personal information from anyone under age 13. In addition, we do not allow anyone under age 13 to register for an account.
If a parent or caregiver suspects that a child has provided Freelancing and More with personally identifiable information, please contact us right away.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Freelancing and More does not rent or sell personal information provided on this site to other people or nonaffiliated third-party companies. Freelancing and More does, however, share members’ information to provide products or services they’ve requested, when we have their permission, and/or under the following circumstances:

We give the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with us under strict confidentiality agreements. These companies may use members’ personal information to help Freelancing and More communicate with them regarding our offers and those of our marketing partners. However, these companies have no independent right to share this personal information.

We may share the names and/or email addresses of members who join Freelancing and More as part of a co-branded partnership with us regarding that specific partner.

We may share accumulated demographic information with third parties such as the media, advertisers, and government agencies. This collection of information is generally in the form of statistics, such as numbers of Freelancing and More users in a particular age range. Such non-specific information is not traceable back to a member as an individual.

We may share members’ information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to otherwise collaborate with law enforcement agencies or officials, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims in case of disputes or potential disputes;

We may share members’ information if we believe it is compulsory in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person (members or non-members), violations of Freelancing and More's Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law, to the fullest extent thereof.

We will turn over information about members if we are acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, Freelancing and More will notify all members before information about them is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy given and enforced by the other company.

Use of Cookies

Freelancing and More may set and access cookies on members’ and visitors’ computers. A cookie is a small bit of information used by the site to track a person’s session. However, it does not contain any personal information. No other sites can view or access cookies that may be set by Freelancing and More, nor can Freelancing and More access cookies left by other sites.

Information and Communications

Participants may choose to opt out of receiving Freelancing and More emails by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link found in both the “My Freelancing and More” section and at the end of most of our emails. Please note that even if members do decide to opt out of receiving marketing materials, we reserve the right to continue to send certain infrequent communications relating to our services and/or member’s account, such as service announcements and administrative messages, that are considered part of the member’s Freelancing and More account, without offering them the chance to opt-out of receiving them.

Confidentiality and Security Information

We limit access to all personal information to those who we sincerely believe need to come into contact with said information in order to provide products or services to that member or in order to do their jobs on a daily basis.

We have in place physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect our members’ personal information. Data provided to us will be kept on our servers, which are located either in our offices in Massachusetts, or elsewhere in the United States or abroad (depending on the member’s demographic region).

Links and Third-Party Advertisements

We post links to other sites as a service to our visitors. Companies not controlled by us operate these sites, and a person’s activities on those sites shall be governed by the policies and practices of those third parties, respectively. We encourage all visitors/members to review the privacy practices of these third parties before disclosing any personally identifiable information, as we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and any results arising from their use.

We occasionally permit third-party advertisers to post advertisements on our site. These third parties sometimes place cookies on various pages of our site. We do not control those third parties, or their resulting cookies. This privacy policy does not protect those third party advertisers’ use of cookies. If members or visitors would like more information regarding this practice and their choices about not having this information used by these third-party companies, click here.

The advertising displayed on our site may be geared toward users of specific services and content. So if members or visitors view or click on a targeted ad, the advertiser (or other companies affiliated with the advertiser) may make the assumption that targeting criteria has been met — for example, women aged 20-25.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

This policy was effective as of April 6, 2009 (and as modified on 02/21/2017). Freelancing and More may modify or change this policy. We will notify members regarding significant changes in the way personal information is treated or used by sending a notice to the primary email address found in members’ Freelancing and More account or by placing a prominent notice on the front page of our site.
